Pickup & Fulfillment Policy

At The Boreal Farm, everything we grow is harvested to order; by hand, in rhythm with the season. Because of this, most of our products are available for local pickup only, with a few exceptions for seasonal items like garlic and garlic scapes.


Local Pickup

We offer scheduled pickup windows for:

  • CSA Shares

  • Farmstand Pre-orders

  • Fresh Flowers (when seasonally available)

You’ll receive pickup details—including time, location, and any special instructions—by email after your order is confirmed. We do not offer unscheduled or same-day pickups.


Pickup Locations

Pickup takes place in northeastern Minnesota. Exact locations (e.g., Duluth, surrounding towns) vary by season and product and will be specified in your order confirmation or CSA welcome message.


Unclaimed Orders

We cannot hold perishable items beyond the scheduled pickup window. All unclaimed CSA shares and farmstand orders will be donated to minimize waste and protect food safety.

If you’re unable to pick up your order, feel free to send a friend or neighbor in your place and update us with any changes.


Shipped Products

We currently offer shipping for culinary garlic and garlic scapes only.

  • All garlic and scapes are shipped via USPS Priority Mail.

  • Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address.

  • We do not ship produce, flowers, or CSA shares.

  • Orders typically ship mid-September for culinary garlic and early summer for scapes, weather permitting.

Shipping availability, timelines, and tracking details will be included on individual product pages during the order window.


No Combined Fulfillment

Orders for pickup and orders for shipping are fulfilled separately and cannot be combined. If you place separate orders, they will be processed independently and will be shipped or picked up accordingly.
